CARS RACES ON TO THE SHELVES!
Movie-based sand-box racer is out now!
Cars is released today on DS, GBA, PSP, GameCube, Xbox, PS2 and PC. Based on the forthcoming Disney Pictures release of the Pixar Animation Studios movie – which is out on July 28 – the game features more than 10 playable characters from the film and voice talent from its stars.
1UP has already given the game a warm critical reception and an 8/10 review score, saying: "As we've seen before from THQ's partnerships with Pixar, you really do get the full-on movie tie-in experience from Cars. All of the voice talent from the movie is used, which makes it seem particularly authentic, and the car models are animated in a way that convincingly evokes the movie." Not that Cars is exclusively for children, of course: "It's actually something remarkably enjoyable for anyone with a fondness for Pixar's charming stories"
PGNx Media and Play Magazine both offered 85% scores, citing the quality of the license as well as the excellent quality of Rainbow Studio’s game engine.
