FULL SPECTRUM WARRIOR: TEN HAMMERS REVIEW ROUND-UP

A full spectrum of reviews recommend this multi-format military sim

Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers – out now on PS2, Xbox and PC – is the latest instalment in Pandemic Studio’s series of military strategic shooters. Indeed, quoting consumer magazine Front, which rated it 4/5: “This is the best blend of strategy and shooting out there”.

Praise continued online with IGN.com awarding the game an impressive 8.2/10, advising readers that “if you want hardcore strategy and military sim gaming, this is for you.” Gamespy doled out a hefty 4/5, remarking: “The action taking place in this fictional Middle eastern country looks and sounds as if it’s been ripped straight from war footage of combat taking place in Iraq.”

Back on the newsstands, the British games press had plenty positive to say, dishing out awards accordingly. Snatching 80% and a bronze award from Official Playstation 2 Magazine, with 85% and a silver award from PSM2 Magazine, the latter hammered home the point that “real depth and freedom makes this an impressive continuation of the series”.

Further commendations came from Official Xbox Magazine, giving the game a whopping 9/10; GamesMaster, rating it at 88%; and Xbox World 360 Magazine ushering forth a worthy 82%. As Edge magazine stated: “Pandemic have worked wonders […] There’s nothing else to touch it in terms of mixing strategy and action.” And as PSW UK noted in its 8/10 review: “Ten Hammers is as close as a game has come to representing the genuine battlefield experience.”
