MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THQ!
Read on for our review of the year...
As we enjoy this festive period and another year draws to a close, we like to settle down with some egg-nog and mince pies as we take a look back at some of the highlights of 2007.
The year certainly started with a bang, as Company of Heroes received incredible acclaim from reviewers, picking up numerous awards along the way. This was followed by similar accolades for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade and Supreme Commander.
The start of the year also saw exciting announcements, as THQ revealed it is to publish Ultimate Fighting Championship games and a Warhammer 40,000 MMO!
March saw the release of the much-anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl to much critical acclaim (and a sigh of relief no doubt), while THQ-Games braved the distinctly less radioactive streets of Detroit to bring you coverage of WrestleMania 23 and our very own THQ WWE SuperStar Challenge.
Having marveled at Elijah Burke's dominance at the event, we then thrust ourselves into the life of a stuntman (well, for one day at least) for a Stuntman: Ignition event in Paris.
As the summer approached we geared ourselves up for E3, which proved to be as busy and exciting as ever! At the show THQ announced de Blob, MX vs ATV Untamed, Destroy All Humans! 3, Darksiders and Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts.
After braving the sewers of Paris, THQ-Games interviewed Brian Wiklem, senior producer on Ratatouille and discovered that developer Heavy Iron had a genuine fondness for rats - so much so that they kept two in the studio.
The summer heat was maintained by the release of MotoGP '07, Stuntman: Ignition and Worms: Open Warfare 2 (check out the PSP demo here), plus the announcement of Worms: A Space Oddity for Wii!
As the summer came to an end and September was upon us, THQ TV played host to this astonishing Frontlines: Fuel of War opening cinematic trailer and a 'goresplosion' from Conan (be sure to check out the behind-the-scenes 'Making Of' video featuring Ron Perlman!).
The excitement around Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command showed no signs of slowing down, as we released the PSP demo, which you can download here. THQ-Games also got hold of exclusive Limited Edition Squad Command PSP and DS consoles (the DS competition is open until January 7, so hurry if you want the chance to win this exclusive piece of kit!)
November saw the release of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm videos highlighting the new units of the Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle factions, and Kaos Studios' Frontlines: Fuel of War videos proceeded to blast a hole in THQ TV.
December has proven once again to be the busiest time of the year, as THQ-Games has brought you news of Squad Command wallpapers, downloadable content for Stuntman: Ignition, an Xbox Live Marketplace demo for Frontlines and your chance to win tickets to WrestleMania XXIV!
Phew! After looking through all that we're in need of a lie-down... and maybe one more slice of Christmas pudding. Back
