Warhammer 40,000 MMO on the way
New Games Workshop agreement goes massively multiplayer
If ever a mythology fitted the Massively Multiplayer Online genre so perfectly, it is that of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Which is why THQ is thrilled to announce that the development of a Warhammer 40,000 MMO is already underway at Vigil Studios in Austin, Texas!
Following the critical and commercial success of the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War RTS series; the huge potential for the upcoming MMO is clear. Existing Games Workshop fans should be enraptured by such an interactive world; whilst existing MMO fans may find the transition to the rich Warhammer 40,000 universe a truly enticing option.
This follows the extension of the licensing agreement with Games Workshop until 2013. As well as the MMO rights, this also extends to wireless devices and online rights. It also incorporates Games Workshop's Gorkamorka and Necromunda properties.
There's bound to be great excitement surrounding this news, so... watch this space, marine!
