DESTROY ALL HUMANS! 2 PREVIEW ROUND UP

Intercepting initial preview communications

Pandemic’s sequel to Destroy All Humans: the irreverently comic, free-roaming alien destroy ‘em up, is on its way to PS2 and Xbox. And the preview impressions are positive, with game journalists duly entertained by what they’ve seen.

Computerandvideogames.com “love it”. Why do they love it, despite the specific instruction to ‘Make War Not Love’? “Because Crypto, with his array of awesome alien weapons and taste for destruction, is going to kill everyone and smash the world to pieces. That’s why we love it.” So that’s allowed, they love it because they love war.

It’s not just war-loving that appeals though. Spong.com noted that “Solid gameplay, wry humour and anal probing action will doubtless keep you occupied for quite some time […] There’s little doubt that Pandemic and THQ have another hit on their hands.”

The prominent humour in DAH!2 is also, erm, prominent; PSW pointing out that “you shouldn’t underestimate a game that is both great fun to play and can make you laugh out loud.” And Official Xbox Magazine simply stating “It’s hilarious.” Before going on to dish out an impressive 8/10 for the only published review score thus far.

Fans and newcomers alike should have plenty to enjoy: Gamespy said that “Destroy All Humans! 2 is just about everything fans of the first game could ever hope for” and Pro-G’s opinion was that “fans will get exactly what they want from a sequel. The core missions seem plentiful and diverse, while side mission and collectables are there for completists, and co-op mode will even let you team up with a friend.”

And you can see a video of the aforementioned co-op mode here, along with other screens and such like, over here.
