WWE SMACKDOWN VS. RAW 2009 - DS SEASON MODE
Find out how Season Mode plays out on Nintendo DS
Players who are looking to cement their place in WWE history are in for a whole new Season Mode experience as the WWE® SmackDown® vs. Raw® series returns to the Nintendo DS. Utilizing a unique ¾ overhead view, users can now roam freely throughout a variety of locations, including home, the gym and the arena, in order to make a name for themselves in the WWE ring. Players won’t be alone, however, as they will frequently cross paths with their favorite WWE Superstars like John Cena, The Undertaker and even Vince McMahon himself at WWE Headquarters.
Once the user has chosen a WWE Superstar or Create a Superstar, the goal is simple: capture each of the five WWE singles championships and be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The journey won’t be an easy one, as the player must start at the very bottom of the ladder and earn his or her way to the top. It all begins with a phone call from Mr. McMahon, where the player is given the opportunity to earn a WWE contract. From there, the player will have to navigate all three brands: RAW, SmackDown, and ECW, each filled with a roster of Superstars hungry for the exact same thing.
If players want to even think about competing, they will have to build their Superstars up using a variety of RPG elements. In the WWE, it’s all about respect, and each time the user is victorious, he or she will earn Respect Points that give the ability to trigger various events, title shots, and most importantly, prove themselves to the locker room. In addition, players will attain and equip items to upgrade their Superstar’s physical attributes, as well as level up by playing one of three training minigames in the gym. From exploring the world of the WWE to building Superstars from the ground up, in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 for the DS, the path to the top of the WWE is literally in the player’s hands.
