THQ GAMERS DAY 007

New titles unleashed in San Francisco

In early March, THQ held the inaugural Gamers' Day event in San Francisco. The event was attended by over 200 media from over thirty countries.

Gamers Day saw the debut of many new THQ titles including Conan, Stuntman: Ignition, Frontlines: Fuel of War, Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights, MotoGP '07 and Disney/Pixar's Ratatouille.

The event allowed press a sneak peak as THQ's diverse range of titles for later this year, as well as providing an opportunity for media to talk to some of the industries leading development teams.

Chris Taylor, Supreme Commander of Gas Powered Games, was on hand at the event to talk to press about several new features available for his brilliant RTS.

GPG.net, Gas Powered Games website, contains a host of new additions for the game, as well as active forums to discuss online battles and strategies to become the ultimate Supreme Commander.

As many PC gamers now know, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadows of Chernobyl has gone gold, and to celebrate, GSC lead developers were on hand to demonstrate the multiplayer mode, allowing media a first look at death match modes in the real-time environments of the Zone. Media were impressed by the strength of the multiplayer mode, noting that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will make waves at launch - of the non radioactive variety of course.

THQ also unleashed first looks at a strong racing stable for 2007, including the sequel to the 2005 hit, Juiced as well as a next generation evolution of the Stuntman series.

Juiced(tm) 2: Hot Import Nights(tm) (HIN) features unparalleled vehicle customization, an adrenaline packed drift racing experience and ultra-realistic "Driver DNA". Juiced 2: HIN is the only game that allows players to showcase their skills at Hot Import Nights events. Juiced is next generation racing title with Aussie content. Plain and simple.

Stuntman: Ignition was another racing title that attracted great interest, with gamers playing off for original concept art from the game. Australian OPSM journalist Luke took out top honors, scoring a blistering time to ward off some tough competition.

The fierce competition didn't end with Stuntman: Ignition. THQ's next generation battle field fighter,  Frontlines: Fuel of War was championed by KAOS' very own lead development team. KAOS provided media with the chance to test their FPS skills in an online skirmish against their own Q&A teams back in New York City. Again, the Australian contingent did us proud and didn't go down without a fight.
