UFC 2009 UNDISPUTED - FIGHTING FEATURE
Find out more about the different fighting styles of UFC...
Modern Mixed Martial Arts was born out of the desire to find the most
effective form of unarmed combat in the world. Practitioners of
various styles and techniques challenged one another in “no holds
barred” tournaments in an attempt to find the ultimate fighting art. What was discovered after years of these events was that no single
technique or style dominated all others.
Over time, a new breed
of fighter began to emerge: a fighter who understood that being well
rounded in many forms of combat allowed him to compete against any
challenger and against any technique. The days of trying to find the
ultimate fighting style are over... today is about finding the ultimate
fighter!
UFC® 2009 Undisputed allows
you to become the ultimate mixed martial arts combatant, by combining
techniques from the most brutal and effective fighting arts ever
devised! Boxing, Kickboxing and Muay Thai techniques elevate videogame
striking arts to new levels, as fighters deliver slick combos, vicious
head kicks, and crushing knees and elbows. Wrestling, Judo and
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu utilize powerful shoots and slams, elegant trips
and brilliantly technical submissions to put a fighter on the ground,
dominate him while there and end the fight in dramatic fashion.

Boxing –
Boxers have the widest variety of punches and utilize feints, combos
and counter punching to wear down opponents before delivering crushing,
match ending strikes. In UFC 2009 Undisputed, this translates into a
very effective striking style that is most effective from medium range,
where a boxer has the opportunity to fully extend his punches for
maximum power. Body punching and short, crisp uppercuts are still
quite effective, however, if forced to fight in close.

Kickboxing –
Kickboxers integrate potent punching and a wide variety of kicks to the
legs, body and head with flashy but effective attacks, such as spinning
backfists and spin kicks. Kickboxers are the best range fighters and
can keep opponents at bay with vicious head kicks that can end a fight
instantly.

Muay Thai –
Thai boxers are masters of in close fighting and can deliver knees and
elbows with game ending power. The Muay Thai clinch (or “plum”) is a
unique technique available only to Muay Thai practitioners that
nullifies an opponent’s offense while allowing the delivery of
game-ending knees to the head and body.

Wrestling –
Wrestling is all about controlling opponents through sheer technique
and power. Wrestlers are dominant, on-top grapplers and can force
opponents into very dangerous situations, creating openings for the
brutal ground and pound game. If an opponent is not already on the
ground, a wrestler can help him get there by levying a wide range of
bone-jarring slams.

Judo –
Judo practitioners are never at a disadvantage in a clinch situation
and can trip or throw opponents to the ground with startling ease. Once there, Judo practitioners have a wide variety of submissions and
transitions with which to control their opponents.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu –
BJJ artists are masters of the ground game and are equally comfortable
fighting from the top or bottom. Utilizing impressive techniques such
as the rubber guard, BJJ artists can pull and lock in submissions from
almost any position. Masters of BJJ turn disadvantage into advantage
by capitalizing on any small mistake in an opponent’s ground game.
